How to add a tag cloud

Products in your online store may be found faster by customers if you add a link tag cloud to the storefront. When a customer clicks on a link in the cloud, he or she is offered the complete list of products associated with that link tag.

For example, if products in your store are classified into categories based on their area of application (e.g. "Cars", "Motorcycles", "Motor boats"), you can use a tag cloud to offer your customers alternative navigation by manufacturer country ("USA", "Germany", "Japan") or by brand ("Ford", "BMW", "Yamaha").

The following steps are required to achieve that:

  1. Go to WebAsyst Shop-Script backend section "Products -> Products & Categories", open any product's configuration page and enter the tags that must be associated with that product in field "Tags" in the "Basic details" tab.
  2. Tip: By clicking on the "Show tags" link you can view the full list of tags already added to all products in your store.
  3. Save the changes and add tags to other products which you would like to appear in your storefront.
  4. Proceed to section "Design -> Design editor" and click on "Tag cloud" in the "Simple mode (WYSIWYG)".
  5. A drop-down list will appear where you need to choose the maximum number of tags to be displayed in the storefront. Click on "Embed in template" to add the tag cloud to the layout.
  6. Drag and drop the tag cloud to the desired location on the page and click on "Save template". The tag cloud must now appear in the storefront.
