Transparent areas of product images turn black

Product images uploaded from within a WebAsyst Shop-Script administrator account can be automatically resized according to the current store settings. Smaller image versions created by the resizing script are saved in the JPEG image format. If you attempt to upload a GIF or PNG image file transparent areas will be rendered black as the JPEG format does not support transparency.

Should you need to upload files with transparent areas, resize them by means of an appropriate image editor and upload all image versions (large, normal, thumbnail) in section "Design -> Image Uploader" or via FTP into the /published/publicdata/DATABASE KEY/attachments/SC/products_pictures directory. Once image files have been uploaded, import a CSV file containing the names of the those image files and the products they belong to in order to attach images to products.
