Product description is not visible in Internet Explorer

If you or your customers open the storefront page with the detailed product information, you may discover that the description is not visible in a browser. In this case you should first of all check in backend section "Products -> Products & Categories" whether the text of description is saved in the database.

If the text is in the database but is still not visible in the storefront when viewed with Internet Explorer, it might be caused by presence of special tags in the HTML code of the description. Such tags are automatically added to the code if description is copied and pasted from Microsoft Word. Such "unwanted" code may look as shown in the picture:

To eliminate the problem, remove such tags from the HTML code of product descriptions - it should be done in the HTML mode. To switch to the HTML mode, click on the  "HTML" button in the the product/category description editor toolbar:

Tip: To avoid re-occurrence of this problem, it is recommended to use a code editor, which allows saving plain text without formatting , e.g. Notepad++ (Windows) or vim (UNIX/Linux). If you prefer using Microsoft Word to paste descriptions to WebAsyst Shop-Script, consider using the "Paste from Word" button in the description editor toolbar:
