Error 404 "Page Not Found" during checkout

During the checkout in WebAsyst Shop-Script a message referring to error 404 "Page Not Found" may appear in your browser. Check the URL of that page: if it begins with https://, it is quite possible that parameter "Checkout is performed in SSL secure mode" in administration section "Settings -> Settings -> Cart & Checkout" is enabled.

Enabling that parameter is only allowed if an SSL certificate is installed for the domain name of your online store. In this case use of storefront pages with URLs beginning with https:// is possible. Otherwise the above mentioned parameter should be disabled.

You can purchase an SSL certificate for your domain from any suitable provider, e.g. your domain name registrar. Once the certificate has been installed, you can enable the "Checkout is performed in SSL secure mode" option to ensure that your customer payment data are transferred through a secure channel.
