How to create email addresses on the domain name linked to a WebAsyst account

Users of online service WebAsyst Shop-Script have an opportunity to associate their own domain name with the storefront of the online store. After the domain setup one can also create email addresses based on the same domain name, e.g.: info@domain.com, alex@domain.ru, etc. (instead of info@accountname.webasyst.net, alex@accountname.webasyst.net). Creation of such email addresses is only possible in the following 2 cases:

  • The domain name was registered from within your WebAsyst account.
  • The domain name was registered by a third-party registrar, and web hosting service was purchased for the domain IP address change.
Note: If you have rented DNS servers to host your domain name and to change its IP address, creating email addresses based on your domain name would not be possible.

If the domain name was registered from within your WebAsyst account

In this case an email address can be created with WebAsyst Mail. Open the "Inbox" folder, click on "Add mail box" and select option "Create new Email address on the WebAsyst mail server".

If the domain name was registered by a third-party registrar

In this case you have to use the control panel of your web hosting account to change the MX records of the domain name - they should be changed to the IP address of your hosting server.

Tip: For more convenience you may create a third-level domain name and assign it the IP address of your hosting server; that subdomain can then be used for the MX records of your main domain. However, use of a third-level domain name for this purpose is entirely optional.

After the setup described above is completed, create an email address using the control panel of your web hosting account.
