Accepting payments with 2Checkout

Payment system 2Checkout (also known as 2CO) offers online sellers a convenient way to accept online payments by credit cards. In order to start accepting payments for sales made with WebAsyst Shop-Script, be sure to follow the steps described below.

Registration in 2Checkout

To obtain a merchant account at in 2Checkout, go to https://www.2checkout.com/2co/signup and follow the instructions of the signup wizard. Once you are registered, copy your merchant ID – you will need this value later to configure your online store.

Configure WebAsyst Shop-Script

In order to add a 2Checkout payment option to your WebAsyst Shop-Script based online store, log in to its administrative backend, open the "Settings -> Payment" screen, and click "Add payment type".

Then select "Accept credit cards" and click "Next >>". Select the "2checkout" and again click "Next >>". The 2Checkout payment module settings page will open where very few parameters need to be specified:

2checkout merchant ID: your merchant ID which you ave copied in your 2Checkout account.
USD currency type: select the currency which corresponds to the United States dollars in your store – this step is important to make all order amounts get correctly passed to the 2Checkout server.

This is all, just click the "Save" button to complete the payment method setup and start accepting payments.

Customer experience

Customers who prefer paying by credit card, will since now be able to choose a new payment option during checkout, which is based on the newly set up module. After the checkout completion a "Buy now" button will appear which should be clicked to proceed to payment. A click on the button will redirect a customer to the secure 2Checkout payment page, where he or she will enter their credit card details.
