Shop-Script worldwide usage statistics

WebAsyst Shop-Script powers over 8000 online stores in more than 90 countries worldwide. Below are some aggregative monthly statistics of all Shop-Script based stores:

• 131 000 orders are successfully paid and delivered every month
  
  Assuming that average order value is $50, the gross value of all orders will be 6 500 000 $ per month.
• 5% of all new orders are placed by store staff in the back end (these are mainly phone orders), 10% of orders come from widgets published on external websites, and the rest 85%—from storefronts
• 720 000 000 page views per month
• 0.85% of page views are from mobile devices (e.g. iPhone and PDAs)
• 3 000 000 products are being added to cart
• 21% of all products are added to shopping carts using widgets
• 10 000 000 products are presented in storefronts
• 754 000 new products are added and published each month
• 2 114 000 products information is being updated monthly

How we evaluate

For online stores which are powered by our hosted service, we count aggregative usage stats: number of new orders, complete orders, add to cart, add product and edit product actions. We collect this data into aggregative indicators for all hosted online stores. It works similar to website analytics software (e.g. Awstats and Google Analytics). None of account personalized data is counted—we count only aggregative values.

Since we do not have information about Shop-Script usage and functioning when it is installed on third-party remote servers (information is available to store owner only), we can only make evaluations on overall usage indicators. This can be done by extrapolating hosted store indicators on the overall number of stores powered by Shop-Script. The total number of Shop-Script installations is determined by the number of issued licenses and a couple of "advanced" search queries in search engines.

Using such evaluation techniques we calculated major performance indicators for all Shop-Script stores based on September 2009 data. Numbers are shown above. Please note that this evaluation only counts WebAsyst Shop-Script based stores. All predecessor products such as Shop-Script PRO/PREMIUM and our free software Shop-Script FREE are not counted. Adding these products to usage stats would significantly increase overall numbers, because for today number of Shop-Script FREE-PRO-PREMIUM based stores is still larger than the number of WebAsyst Shop-Script based stores.
